Guest Spotlight:
Adis Lujinovic, CEO & Co-Founder of Switchless
Adis Lujinovic is a Chemical Engineering student at Texas A&M University, and is also the CEO of growing Smart Home startup Switchless. Inspired by his business-owning parents, Adis has had a life-long passion for entrepreneurship. In 2022, Adis co-founded Switchless (with CTO Nicho Naugle) with the goal of creating an easy, safe, and affordable smart solution that can make any home a Smart Home, just by replacing the light switches.
Key Takeaways:
- What makes Switchless special is that it isn’t just smart lighting, it is a completely consolidated smart home product. Using sensor clusters and a mesh network, ordinary light switches are transformed into a data point in every room that controls lighting, senses changes in temperature, and detects movement. Switchless aims to optimize the entire home, with intuitive installation and customizable controls to fit every lifestyle and need.
- At present, Switchless has not raised any external funds. So far, Adis and Nicho have put their own funding towards their startup’s success, but they have now reached a limit where they need external funding and investments for manufacturing, certifications, and marketing their products. With the help of previous FTF guest and 1876 Ventures Director Shelly Brenckman, Switchless has started their journey to expand their network and raise funds for next steps.
- Becoming an entrepreneur as full-time students has been a difficult journey for Adis and his co-founder Nicho, but Adis still believes in the worthwhile experience of finishing his degree program. Even with the bright future for Switchless ahead of him, Adis understands the value of gaining experience in the chemical engineering field and values the importance his family has placed on his collegiate success.
