Babila is an app and a startup from Bahrain that emerged as part of the Softeq Venture Studio. The app is a social platform designed to assist migrant workers in the Middle East who are looking for a job and whose position in the market may be more vulnerable than established local workers. These migrant workers often don’t know the laws or local language and can fall into the hands of untrustworthy employers. The primary objective of Babila is to connect employers and employees through a cross-device app platform that works seamlessly on mobile phones, tablets, and computers. The Babila team has made it their mission to provide a trusted platform for migrant workers, starting with Bahrain and then expanding to other Gulf countries. The Softeq team enthusiastically joined this exciting journey, gaining first-hand insight into the realities of life in Bahrain. We can later build on this groundwork and apply this practical knowledge on a global scale, considering the unique dynamics and peculiarities of each market.
